LinkedIn recently introduced a two-step verification process on October 10, 2023, which requires users to make certain adjustments to their member settings. While this is an important security enhancement, it may have caused disruptions for users attempting to fetch data via ReportGarden platform. This article outlines the issue and provides a detailed step-by-step guide on how to resolve it.
The Problem:
Due to the changes in member settings resulting from LinkedIn's two-step verification, access to all third-party applications tied to your member profile may have been removed. As a consequence, when attempting to retrieve data from LinkedIn Marketing APIs, on the backend we encounter an issue denoted by a "401 REVOKED_ACCESS_TOKEN" error. In the ReportGarden application, this issue is indicated by a status message that reads "Relink Needed."
Resolving the Issue:
To address this issue and continue accessing your LinkedIn data via ReportGarden, users who have enabled two-step verification need to re-authenticate their LinkedIn accounts. Below are the step-by-step instructions to resolve the problem:
Log in to your ReportGarden account
Access the "Accounts" Section
Select "Link Account": Within the "Accounts" section, you will find an option to "Link Account."
Choose LinkedIn Ads/ LinkedIn Analytics in the prompt. Repeat this step for each of them.
Provide Credentials with Full Access
By following these steps, you can successfully re-authenticate your LinkedIn account within ReportGarden, addressing any disruptions caused by the two-step verification implementation. This will enable you to continue accessing your LinkedIn data without any interruptions, ensuring the smooth operation of your marketing and analytics activities through the ReportGarden.
