Offset and pagination techniques play a pivotal role in enhancing the usability of table widgets, allowing users to navigate through more rows of data easily. In this article, we will delve into the concepts of offset and pagination and explore how they can be used to streamline the reporting.

What does pagination and offset exactly mean?

Pagination: Pagination involves dividing a dataset into smaller, more manageable chunks or pages. Each page typically contains a predetermined number of records. Users can navigate through the data by moving from one page to another, enabling them to view data in a structured and organized manner.

In the PDFs, it would download showing the page number but it does not show the data in the second page. To view the data of second page, you need to add another widget and apply an offset.

Offset: Offset refers to the starting point or position from which data is retrieved in a dataset. It determines where the table widget begins displaying data. By specifying an offset, you can "skip" a certain number of rows, ensuring that only relevant and manageable subsets of data are presented.

Let us see how to apply Pagination and offset in table widget by taking an example.

Use case:

Let us have a quick view on how to use to offset and pagination in table widget with a use case of showing Google ads data for last year .

Step1: Go for the "Table widget" at right of the tab in widgets and drag it on to the report page . Add metrics accordingly to create table of required data .

Step 2 : Now we got table of 2 pages according the existing data . Let us go for settings by the selecting the table and let offset be "0" by default for the first table . Set date ranges according by comparing previous dates.

Now turn on the pagination and set it as "10 " as we want 10 rows in first table .

Step 3: Now copy and paste the same table , then change the offset number into "10"

to continue the second table from the 11th row .
